Reflecting on Kindness: What Did You Learn from Compliment Cards?

Now that you’ve made and given your Compliment Cards, it’s time to reflect on your experience! Taking a moment to think about what happened can help you appreciate the impact of kindness and inspire you to keep spreading it. Here’s a fun guide to help you remember what happened and think about how you can continue being kind.

Start by thinking about how you felt while making your Compliment Card. Was it fun choosing what to write and decorating the card? Draw a face that shows how you felt during the activity. Then, think about the compliment you wrote for your friend. Why did you choose that specific compliment? Write it down or draw a picture of what you wrote. Reflecting on your words can help you understand how small gestures can mean so much.

Next, recall how your friend reacted when they received the card. Did they smile, laugh, or say something kind in return? Draw your friend’s face when they saw the card and describe their reaction. Then, think about how giving the card made you feel. Did it make you happy or proud? Use words or pictures to show your feelings after spreading kindness.

This activity also teaches an important lesson about kindness. Ask yourself, what did you learn about being kind? Was it easy or hard to do? Why? Write or draw about what this activity taught you. Then, think about whether you’d like to do it again. Who else might you like to make a card for? Maybe a classmate, teacher, or even a family member could use a kind surprise!

Finally, brainstorm other ways to show kindness in school. What kind things can you do for your classmates and teachers every day? Whether it’s helping someone with their work, sharing your supplies, or saying kind words, there are countless ways to spread positivity. By reflecting on your experience, you can find new ways to make kindness a part of your daily routine.
